Providing a model for research that maximises health impact and delivers against established priorities at a local, state and national health system level.

Led by the Research Sub-committee, the Research Program builds on the learnings from AHRA funding rounds, and international literature, to propose a model that considers the priorities and principles for AHRA WHRTN. It aligns with AHRA/ WHRTN priorities, and principles, which is aligned to the National Women’s Health Strategy.

Vision, Values and Principles

Aims

To facilitate a multi-step co-production process, integrating national diverse multidisciplinary teams and developing research and translation proposals that will create impact and outcomes, working across multiple partners and scaling solutions for women nationally.

Current activities include:

  • Developing WHRTN’s aims and principles to address overarching priorities through national large-scale collaboration

  • Building capacity, capability and credibility in women’s health research

  • Building capacity, capability and credibility and developing careers of women in research and translation in women’s health

  • Building a model which leads to sustainability, implementation, scale and impact on health outcomes

  • Supporting and engaging stakeholders from the community, professional colleges, Centre Health Service Partners and Primary Care

  • Establishing processes to identify and meet the needs and priorities of stakeholders

  • Delivering and/or initiating high quality translational research

  • Identifying research that feeds into the clinical research pipeline, enabling clinical researcher career development and further funding

    • Developing WHRTN funding schemes and processes

    • Extending and deepen research and translation to deliver health impact for Australian women and their families Follow robust governance and transparent collaborative processes

    • Co-developing, recommending, then deliver on WHRTN Steering Committee and AHRA Council ratified activities
